Stuart Christie media archive

UW stumbled across an archive of media relating to Spanish anarchism as well as more general anarcho-syndicalist themes. Includes material on the Angry Brigade, IWW, talks by Chomsky etc…

This collection is the work of Stuart Christie, one of the fonders of Anarchist Black Cross. UW is currently reading Christie & Melzer's "Floodgates of Anarchy" and promises a review/critique.

Meanwhile, the media archive is available here:

John Taylor Caldwell 1911 – 2007

 John Taylor Caldwell, seaman and anarchist, born 14 July 1911; died 12 January 2007

I have just learned of the recent death – at age 95 – of John Taylor Caldwell, long-time colleague, companion and co-conspiritor of Guy Aldred.

John T Caldwell  was Aldred's literary executor and dedicated his energies, following Aldred's death in 1963, to spreading the message of the USM. In many ways, he was the inspiration for this project…

Thanks, "Caldy"…

The best build starts at the bottom…

:: Blog the First ::

Traditionally – and emotionally – we are conditioned to believe that there is "power in a union", be it a partnership of two people or a syndicat of thousands.

Whether this maxim holds for unions which are nothing more than casual associations of convenience, motivated by greed, habit or apathy, is something I  would challenge…but, for the true collective or commune, there can exist no envelope.

I profess no faith in Gods and hold little hope for Man…send in the clowns!
